I'm still a little sick, but WAY better than I was on Saturday morning.  The first 10 miles were a little funky with sickness, more Christmas junk food, cold weather, yada yada.  From 10-15 I felt great and as I made my way behind Walmart and then I was ready to be done.  Threw in a couple tempo miles at 16 and 17, then just cruised home.  Actual distance was 20.2 but for the sake of nice, even numbers, we'll call it 20 and be done with it.

I ran 15 more miles this year than I did in 2011.  Would have been a lot more but November was rough--desire just wasn't there and it felt pretty darn good to sleep in everyday.  But I still managed 3,333 miles this year, an all-time high for me and a record I'm sure I'll never break.  Just too much going on right now and it will only get busier with 3 kids, work, church, school, etc.  It's been a good ride with the PR's, but moving forward I'll just have to be content with enjoying running for the simple things.  Which I'm fine with.

2012 was a good year for running: New mileage record, PR in the 10K (arguably the best race of my life), first ultra trail race (50k) and first marathon win.  Still looking for the sub-2:30 marathon but if it doesn't happen, life goes on and I'm ok with it.

9 miles, up to the north freeway exit and back.  Pretty chilly this morning and there was ice on the roads.  Made for some slow miles.  My right hip locked up at the turn around and I had to walk for a bit.  Pain was bad enough that I thought about calling Andrea to come pick me up, but thankfully it went away after lots of walking and stretching.  All in all, a horrible start to 2013... Haha

10 miles around GP.  I ran west of town, looped around the series of neighborhoods and then headed home.

I got in time to run today! Success!  I ran over to Walmart and then back into downtown.  At the junction where the one-way streets intersect (right near Competitive Athletics) there was a serious accident.  Somehow, a driver managed to flip a car and it stopped upside down, in a ditch, almost crashed into Roe Motors.  3 Police officers and a tow truck were on the scene, trying to get everything back in order.  I'm curious how something like that happens at 6:00 in the morning.  Maybe this isn't such a sleepy town after-all.

20 mile long run this morning.  It was a bit chilly, but most of the week was colder so I'm not complaining.  I crossed the river and ran around the neighborhoods near all-sports park, then ran up to Anderson Dental for a 9 mile warm up.  As I dropped down near Club NW, I picked up the pace into downtown and then south to Fred Meyer and Walmart for a 4 mile tempo.  Came back around past the hotels and then up Beacon St for 2 miles, then started another 4 mile tempo section down 6th street towards home.  1 final mile easy and then done.  Felt pretty good but still want this sickness to leave me for good.  It's been 1 week and I'm ready to be healthy...
