7 miles with my dad in GP. The wind was howling and rain came down intermittently but it wasn't too bad. Typical Monday morning run when I eat poorly on Sunday night and pay for it later. I dropped my dad off, changed my shoes to break in some new Lunar Elite's and ran a quick 5 miles to finish off the morning.
AM: 6 miles on the hospital and middle school loop.
PM: 7 miles on Pre's Trail in Eugene. I can cross an item off my bucket list. I've ran on Pre's Trail a number of times but not in my Five Fingers....until tonight. I picked a pretty good day to try it out; the earlier rain made the trail extra soft. Pretty enjoyable but I fear I may have gone too far for my first fivefinger run of 2011. We'll see how my legs feel tomorrow.
13 miles in Eugene. I ran to Pre's Rock, then out to the Amazon trail (both east and west). I circled back to the west and tried to find the Butte to Butte course from 2008 but never found it. Eventually made it back to the hotel before too late. One of those runs where I felt, both mentally and physically, like I could go forever.
10 miles along the Willamette River in Eugene. I ran along the south trail, crossed over to the north trail and then back to the University before returning to the hotel. Calf muscles are really sore from my fivefinger run on Tuesday. Really sore...
10 easy miles this morning. A little cool but it felt nice. The weather looks amazing for the Eugene marathon this weekend. Wish I was running it... But then again, I ran part of the course yesterday and remember how much I didn't care for the trail portions along the river so maybe I'm not missing out on much.
